The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Jennifer Adighije, has said the appointment of two new Executive Directors will strengthen the company’s leadership and accelerate the delivery of its strategic mandate to improve electricity infrastructure across Nigeria.
Adighije said the appointments underscore the Federal Government’s determination to reposition NDPHC for greater efficiency and reinforce ongoing reforms aimed at expanding electricity generation, transmission and distribution under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
She noted that the appointments are part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen corporate governance, improve operational performance and enhance institutional capacity as NDPHC intensifies efforts to bridge critical gaps in Nigeria’s power value chain.
Welcoming the new members of the Executive Management Team, Adighije thanked President Tinubu for appointing seasoned professionals whose experience would add value to the company’s transformation agenda.
The newly appointed Executive Directors are Mr. Patrick Obahiagbon, who will serve as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, and Mr. Chukwuma Umeoji, appointed as Executive Director, Corporate Services.

According to her, their appointments represent an important milestone in NDPHC’s drive to strengthen strategic planning, commercial operations, corporate governance, stakeholder engagement and overall institutional effectiveness.
She stressed that strong leadership, teamwork and collaboration remain essential to achieving the company’s strategic priorities, particularly in expanding electricity generation, increasing transmission capacity, strengthening distribution networks and unlocking stranded generation assets.
Adighije expressed confidence that the expertise of the new Executive Directors would complement the existing management team and enhance NDPHC’s capacity to deliver critical power projects that support Nigeria’s economic growth and industrial development.
She added that the strengthened executive team would foster innovation, improve decision-making, deepen stakeholder confidence and accelerate the execution of projects designed to improve the reliability and resilience of electricity supply across the country.
According to Adighije, the appointments further position NDPHC to play a pivotal role in advancing Nigeria’s power sector reforms while delivering sustainable value to the nation’s electricity industry.
