The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a massive shipment of illicit drugs weighing over 748 kilograms along the Benin-Lagos Expressway.

Edo State Commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju, disclosed that the drugs were concealed in a truck bearing the Nigeria Labour Congress insignia.

The seizure included millions of capsules and tablets of tramadol, Rohypnol, diazepam and other psychotropic substances.

Two suspects were arrested in connection with the consignment.

Ofoyeju described the development as a major breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, warning that such substances pose serious threats to public health, especially among youths.

Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will soon be charged to court.
