Kano State Strategic Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have resolved to fight drug abuse and ensure a peaceful electoral process in the state.
The resolve followed a courtesy visit by the NDLEA to the Kano office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
A statement signed Friday by the Public Relations Officer of the NDLEA Strategic Command in the state, Sadiq Mohammed Maigatari explained that the visit sought to reinforce the cordial working relations between both institutions.
The statement further disclosed that the visit was aimed at exploring areas of synergy in the discharge of the two agencies’ statutory responsibilities.
“Discussions centered on institutional collaboration, information sharing, and coordinated actions to support peaceful and credible electoral processes.
Commenting on the visit. Kano NDLEA boss and leader of the delegation, DY Lawal reaffirmed NDLEA’s commitment to supporting INEC’s mandate.
In response, the INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Audu A Zango expressed the readiness of the Commission to sustain collaboration in the interest of national stability and democratic development.
