The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Office, has arrested a total of 52 suspects and seized assorted illicit substances.

The arrests followed raids on various drug spots in the state.

The operation followed the launch of “Operation Sharar Mafaka,” a sustained campaign to dislodge and occupy notorious drug joints in the metropolis.

Daily Sun reports that “Operation Sharar Mafaka,” which commenced on April 27, 2026, had targeted over 20 known drug locations.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the NDLEA Kano Strategic Office, Sadiq Mohammed Maigatari, explained that operatives have so far raided the infamous Filin Iddi dens, Tashar Rami, Fagge, Abattoir, and Farm Centre, adding that further raids were conducted on April 28 in Hotoro, Flyover, Mariri Park, Ramin Jirga Tishama, Yankaba, and Audu Bako Secretariat.

Speaking on the operation, the State Commander, DY Lawal, said that his officers were resolved to dislodge the criminal joints, seize exhibits, arrest suspects, and occupy such premises until normalcy is restored.

He reiterated the commitment of the agency towards enforcement, community engagement, and partnership with citizens to eliminate drug-related activities in the state.
