He added that 420 sensitisation programmes were conducted in schools and communities to educate residents, particularly young people, on the dangers of illicit drug use and the need to resist involvement in drug-related activities.
According to him, the command also carried out Operation Restore Order, which led to the dismantling of about 35 drug joints and the arrest of more than 300 suspects.
Lawal further disclosed that Operation Sharar Mafaka uncovered underground tunnels and caves in the Rimin Kebe area of Kano, allegedly used by drug dealers to conceal their illicit activities.
The commander expressed appreciation to the Chairman of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, stakeholders, community members and the media for their support in the fight against drug trafficking and abuse.
He urged residents to provide timely and credible information to the agency to strengthen its operations and help rid the state of illicit drugs and their associated criminal activities.
