The Obi–Kwankwaso (OK) Movement in Enugu State has alleged attempts by some individuals to destabilise the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). The group warned members and supporters against what it described as efforts to create confusion through unauthorised leadership claims.
In a statement issued on Friday by its Chief Press Secretary, Moses Ani, the movement expressed concern over what it called deliberate attempts to create a non-existent faction within the party through impersonation and the spread of misinformation.
It warned that such actions could deepen divisions and distract members from preparations for the 2027 general elections. “It is intentional to create division and confusion, knowing that Enugu is the support base of Mr. Peter Obi, and we must resist it.
“Such actions are unacceptable, undermine democratic principles and must cease immediately,” he stated.

The movement urged the individuals to allow the party’s internal mechanisms and legal processes to run their full course. He stressed that all political actors should respect constitutional democracy and the rule of law. It also claimed that a suit filed by the Johnpaul group against the party was struck out in July, arguing that the ruling left no legal basis for parallel structures or alternative leadership claims.
It further alleged that members of the group had continued to parade themselves as party leaders despite the court’s decision.
The movement cautioned against using young Nigerians as instruments of political conflict and urged members and supporters to remain calm, united, vigilant and resolute while verifying information through recognised party leadership and official communication channels.
It maintained that the ‘New Nigeria’ project is greater than individual ambitions and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting democratic values, accountability and good governance ahead of the 2027 elections.
