Investment banker and economist, Atedo Peterside has said ‘judicial rascality’ could only be stopped through disciplinary action.
Peterside made the assertion in an X post on Saturday amid the controversy generated by a court judgement ordering the deregistration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, relying on appellate courts alone to remedy atrocious rulings would only encourage more impunity by lower courts.
He said, “The cure for judicial rascality is disciplinary action.

Daily Sun had reported that a Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja, Kogi State, on Friday set aside the court’s December 10, 2025 judgement compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC as a political party.
The judgement has drawn widespread condemnation across the political opposition, with the NDC vowing to challenge it at the Court of Appeal.
