The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has constituted a seven-member National Reconciliation Committee to engage aggrieved aspirants and resolve disputes arising from the party’s recently concluded primaries.
The committee will be chaired by renowned political economist, Prof. Pat Utomi, with Engr. Buba Galadima serving as co-chairman.
The development was contained in a statement jointly signed by the National Chairman of the party, Cleopas Moses, and the National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, yesterday.
According to the statement, the committee will meet with affected aspirants across the country to address outstanding grievances, promote reconciliation and strengthen party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Other members of the committee are Mohammed Takori, who will serve as vice chairman; Babatunde Alli, secretary; Mrs Dudu Manuga; Salvador Moshood; and Alhaji Haruna Pai.
The party also announced the establishment of three zonal subcommittees covering the North, South-South and South-East geopolitical zones to support the reconciliation process.
The NDC said the National Reconciliation Committee would be inaugurated at the party’s national secretariat by 12 noon on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
The move comes as the opposition party seeks to resolve internal disagreements arising from its primaries and consolidate its structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
