Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the 2024 Democracy Day, noting that Nigerians have reasons to celebrate the country’s unfettered democracy that began in 1999.
NCPC spokesman, Celestine Toruka, in a statement, on Wednesday, noted further that the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, also congratulated President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, on the occasion of Democracy Day.
Bishop Adegbite expressed optimism that despite current economic challenges, there is hope for a better future for Nigerians.
The NCPC boss described democracy as the best form of government that guarantee citizens’ fundamental human rights, and urged President Tinubu to continue working towards transforming Nigeria.
He also commended his administration’s initiatives aimed at addressing economic challenges, and described the President as a true democrat who has fought for democracy throughout his life.
He encouraged and appealed to Nigerians to have faith in their leaders and uphold them in prayer, and also urged the church to continue praying for the President’s success and good health.
Bishop Adegbite thanked Nigerians for being part of history as the country celebrates Democracy Day, of “Renewed Hope and Satisfaction.”
