The Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Nwakuche has distanced himself from a personal Facebook account bearing his name.
In a Friday statement, Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Umar Abubakar said the CG’s attention was drawn to a Facebook account operating in the name of Sylvester Nwakuche, which allows people to send friend requests and engage as though it were a personal account.
He said, “We wish to inform the general public that the Controller General of Corrections does not operate any personal Facebook account.

“He only maintains an official Facebook page for public communication and engagement.
“The said profile is fake, unauthorised, and should be disregarded and reported as such.
“We strongly advise the public to exercise caution and refrain from interacting with such fraudulent accounts.”
Abubakar disclosed that steps were currently being taken to report the impersonation to the appropriate authorities.
