The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in collaboration with YougRich Heritage Nigeria Limited has concluded a one-month training programme on welding and fabrication for 30 youths in Delta State. The training, which was part of NCDMB’s commitment to empowering Nigerian youths with skills in various trades, brought together participants from different backgrounds and skill levels.

The Chief Executive Officer of YougRich Heritage Nigeria Limited, Agbanashi Young, expressed gratitude to NCDMB for the opportunity given to his company to train the youths.

He said: “We are honoured to partner with the NCDMB on this initiative, and we are proud of the progress made by the participants. “We urge the board to keep it up, as this kind of training will go a long way in empowering Nigerian youths and making them self-reliant.”

He also commended President Bola Tinubu for his support to the NCDMB and its initiatives. “We are grateful to Mr. President for his unwavering support to the NCDMB and its efforts to develop the skills of Nigerian youths,” he said.

The participants thanked the organisers, citing the comprehensive nature of the training and the dedication of the facilitators. They expressed gratitude to the two organisations for providing them with the opportunity to acquire new skills and enhance their employability.

The training was designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to work in the welding and fabrication industry. It covered various aspects of welding and fabrication, including safety protocols, equipment handling and project design and execution.

The programme is a demonstration of NCDMB’s commitment to developing the skills of Nigerian youths and promoting self-reliance. It is expected that the skills acquired by the participants will enable them to start their own welding and fabrication businesses or secure employment in the industry.
