The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with FAB Development Company Nigeria Limited, has successfully concluded a four-week intensive training programme on steel welding and fabrication techniques for 50 youths in Oshodi, Lagos State.

The training, which ran from June 29 to July 24, was designed to equip young Nigerians with practical, industry-relevant skills in steel welding and fabrication. The initiative aligns with NCDMB’s mandate to build local capacity, promote Nigerian Content and create sustainable employment opportunities for youths across the country.

Participants were taken through both theoretical and hands-on sessions covering modern welding techniques, safety standards, fabrication processes and workshop best practices. The programme is aimed to bridge the skills gap in the oil and gas, construction and manufacturing sectors by producing job-ready technicians.

The certification ceremony was held at the training centre in Oshodi, Lagos State. Representing FAB Development at the event was Amos Kolawole Odina, who presented certificates to the trainees and commended them for their dedication and commitment throughout the training.

He urged the beneficiaries to apply the knowledge gained to become employers of labour and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s industrial development.

The 50 certified youths are expected to be linked to opportunities within FAB Development’s network and other partner companies in the fabrication and construction value chain.
