The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with AFN Global Services Limited, has completed a five-day training programme on quality auditing and ISO certification for 50 beneficiaries in Anambra State.
The training, which was held from August 3 to 7 in Awka, the state capital, is part of the NCDMB’s efforts to develop local capacity and improve the competitiveness of Nigerian businesses in line with international standards.
At the end of the programme, a representative of the NCDMB presented certificates to the participants and urged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in their workplaces and businesses.
The representative said the training was consistent with the Board’s mandate to deepen Nigerian Content by equipping Nigerians with skills that meet international requirements.
He noted that knowledge of quality auditing and ISO standards was increasingly important for companies seeking to participate in the oil and gas industry and other regulated sectors.
The technical partner, AFN Global Services Limited, facilitated practical sessions covering quality management systems, internal auditing processes, documentation, compliance requirements and the procedures for obtaining ISO certification.
Participants were also trained on how to assist organisations in implementing and maintaining internationally recognised standards aimed at improving operational efficiency, safety and access to local and international markets.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the NCDMB and AFN Global Services Limited for the opportunity, saying the programme had equipped them with practical knowledge to support organisations seeking to achieve and sustain ISO certification.
They also said the training would enhance their prospects of pursuing careers as quality auditors and consultants.
The NCDMB reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with indigenous companies and technical partners to deliver skills development programmes that create employment opportunities, promote adherence to quality standards and strengthen the capacity of Nigerians to compete effectively in local and global markets.
The Board said such interventions remained critical to developing a skilled workforce capable of supporting the growth of Nigerian businesses and increasing local participation in key sectors of the economy.
