The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with Mimshack Limited, has successfully concluded a two-week technical training programme on Scaffolding and Rigging for 50 youths in Rivers State.
The capacity building initiative, which took place in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, was designed to equip participants with practical skills required for safe operations in the oil and gas, construction and fabrication industries.
The training covered key areas, including scaffold erection and dismantling, load handling, use of lifting equipment, rigging techniques and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) best practices. Participants also underwent intensive hands-on sessions supervised by certified instructors.
A total of 50 youths completed the programme and received certificates of participation.

Organisers said the beneficiaries are now qualified to take up roles as scaffolding technicians and riggers in line with industry standards.
In his remarks, a representative of Mimshack Limited, the implementing partner, commended the NCDMB for the opportunity and assured that the company remains committed to delivering quality technical training that meets industry requirements.
He urged the graduates to apply the skills acquired responsibly and to pursue further certifications to enhance their career prospects.
Some of the participants expressed appreciation to NCDMB and Mimshack, saying the training had opened new opportunities for employment and self-reliance.
The NCDMB technical capacity building initiative continues to focus on empowering youths from the oil-producing communities with employable skills in line with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act.
