The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with Mimshack Swift Limited, has concluded a five-day training and empowerment programme in electricity meter repairs and electrical distribution switchgear for 50 beneficiaries in Anambra State.

The programme held from August 3 to August 7, in Awka, Anambra State, was designed to build technical capacity and create job opportunities for Nigerian youths in the power sector.

Mimshack, the implementation partner, delivered practical sessions on electricity meter diagnostics, repair, calibration and the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical distribution switchgear.

Participants were also trained on safety standards, industry best practices and entrepreneurship to help them start businesses or gain employment with power companies and contractors.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying the skills acquired would enable them to contribute to the growth of the power sector in Anambra and across Nigeria. Some received starter packs and tools to aid their transition into the workforce.

The NCDMB reiterated its commitment to partnering with indigenous companies to drive skills transfer, job creation and increased participation of Nigerians in technical fields.
