The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has commenced a five-day capacity building training for teachers in oil and gas host communities in Delta State, focusing on STEM education.

The training is being organised by OMAROG Nigeria Company Limited on behalf of the NCDMB.

The initiative is aimed enhancing the skills and knowledge of the teachers in STEM fields and ultimately improving the quality of education in host communities.

It is part of the NCDMB’s efforts to develop indigenous capacities and capabilities for the industry.

The NCDMB hopes to improve students’ outcomes and prepare them for the oil and gas industry by equipping teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge.

The training will cover various topics, including hands-on activities and collaborative planning sessions, in order to encourage active participation and engagement from educators.

The NCDMB has previously conducted similar training programmes for teachers, highlighting the importance of STEM education in driving innovation and economic growth. The board’s efforts to promote STEM education align with its mandate to develop local capacity and capabilities for the industry.
