NCCE solicits stakeholders’ support to reposition teacher education

In her enthusiasm to change the narrative of Teachers and teacher preparation in Nigeria, the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Dr. Angela Ajala, solicited stakeholders’ support to reposition teacher education in Nigeria.

Ajala made the request during a visit to her office by the leadership of the National Association of Academic Technology, Colleges of Education chapter. She reiterated her commitment to repositioning teacher education to its enviable place in Nigeria, where a teacher and teaching profession become most attractive through curriculum review that would center on innovations to match international standards.

She added: “We have to turn around teacher education in line with the Renew Hope Agenda of Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.”

The executive secretary called on colleges’ unions, associations, and all stakeholders to be on the same page with her to achieve this collective responsibility.

She thanked the association for finding time to familiarize with her and assured them of her open-door administration for new ideas that will change the system.

Earlier in his address, the National President of the association, Comrade Salisumahe, said the visit was to familiarize the association with the new executive secretary and congratulated her for the well-deserved appointment following her track record in the Education sector.

He pledged that the association supports and wishes her a successful tenure in office.
