The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted approval for Enugu Air to commence domestic flight operations in partnership with XEJET, pending the completion of Enugu Air’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC) process.

Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, NCAA, Michael Achimugu, in a statement late Monday said the move aligned with the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development’s 5-Point Agenda, aimed at promoting indigenous airlines and enhancing the ease of doing business in the sector.

As a part of the arrangement, XEJET has completed the NCAA’s five-phase certification procedure to integrate the EMB 170 aircraft into its Operations Specifications (OpsSpecs).

“This authorises XEJET to operate scheduled commercial flights on behalf of Enugu Air under existing regulatory guidelines.

“In the interim, ticket sales for Enugu Air flights will be managed through the XEJET platform, accessible via a redirect on Enugu Air’s official website”, he said.

Achimugu reaffirmed the NCAA’s commitment to fostering a supportive regulatory environment for local carriers while ensuring fair competition and maintaining high standards of safety, security, and consumer protection in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
