Chigbu also announced that 659 would graduate with Third Class honours, 22 with Pass, 889 with unclassified degrees, and 16 with diplomas.

He further disclosed that 1,356 graduands would be awarded postgraduate degrees and diplomas.

According to him, in the postgraduate and diploma category, 431 would earn doctorate degrees, 848 master’s degrees, and 77 diplomas.

Additionally, he stated that two prominent Nigerians would be awarded honorary doctorate degrees, while Prof. Felix Ezema Onah of the Social Sciences and Prof. Isaac Uzoma Asuzu of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, both retired professors, would be conferred with distinguished emeritus professorships.

Reflecting on his achievements since assuming office four months ago, Chigbu highlighted resolving the institution’s longstanding energy crisis as a significant milestone.

“Today, our inventiveness has seen not only a lasting solution to the crisis, but we have also gained deep insights into sustainable energy solutions for the future. The illegal connections, energy theft, irresponsible use, and dereliction of duty that have sabotaged electricity supply in UNN have been diagnosed and cured to a very large extent,” he said.
