The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, Anambra State, has indicated its readiness to set up a School of Health Information Management at its permanent site.
The Chief Medical Director of the institution, Associate Professor Joseph Ugboaja, disclosed this at the weekend when the health institution held its 2022 health information week and 19th matriculation ceremony at the temporary site.
Ugboaja, who was represented by the Chairman, Management and Advisory Committee (CMAC) of the NAUTH, Associate Professor Ugochukwu Ezejiofor, commended the bold steps the Ugboaja administration had taken to make the NAUTH a world-class health institution.
He said: “There is a plan to set up a digital gigantic School of Health Information Management at the permanent site as planned by the CMD.
“The event today signifies a new beginning in your lives. Be visionary. There is a seed of greatness that you can only activate to actualize your dream.
“The school has produced great men and women, excellent in character and learning. You should target to excel in your studies.”
In her address, Head of the school, Mrs. Nwajagu Uche, told the new students that the profession encompassed services in planning, collecting, aggregating, analyzing, and dissemination of individual patients and aggregate clinical data.
