The Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa has launched a groundbreaking ceremony for a 250-housing-unit project in Nasarawa State.
The project is part of the Federal Government’s nationwide network of cities and estates program, aimed at delivering 50,000 housing units across the country.
Ahmed Musa during the event at the Shabu Development area of Lafia local government area of Nasarawa state on Saturday stated that the program was officially launched earlier this year in Abuja by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to turn the country into a huge construction site.
“The program aims to unlock the power of the housing sector to create jobs, boost economic development, and help achieve Mr. President’s goal of a $1 trillion economy,” Musa explained.
The housing unit estate project is expected to create job opportunities for various professionals, including architects, engineers, builders, plumbers, electricians, traders, and suppliers of building materials. The minister assured that the project will be completed promptly, with quality construction work.
Musa thanked the guests for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend the ceremony. “I want to thank you for your presence here today. Your support is crucial to the success of this project, and we appreciate your contributions,” he said.
The minister also commended the President for his commitment to the housing sector, saying, “Mr President’s vision for the housing sector is laudable, and we are committed to delivering on his promise.”
“The housing units will not only provide shelter for Nigerians but also create a sense of pride and ownership. We are committed to making this project a success, and we look forward to its completion,” Musa added.
Dan-malam Sani, leader of the developer of the Renew Hope Estate project, expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullah Sule, for gracing the groundbreaking ceremony.
Sani also thanked the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Architect Ahmed Musa, and the Minister of State, Alhaji Abdullahi Tijani Gwarzo, for the opportunity to be part of the project.
“We are committed to ensuring that the Renew Hope Estate will meet the highest standards of quality and design,” Sani assured. “Our team is dedicated to completing this project within a stipulated timeframe of three months, adhering strictly to all specifications provided.
