858 Batch ‘B’ (Stream I) 2023 Corps members deployed to Kaduna State by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been officially sworn in for the one 11 months of mandatory service to the motherland.
The Chief Judge of Kaduna State, Justice Tukur Mu’azu Aliyu, who was represented at the swearing-in ceremony by Justice Buhari Muhammad Balarabe administered the oath to Corps members.
In an address, the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, who was represented at the ceremony held at Government College, Kurmi Mashi, Kaduna by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Human Services and Social Development, Mr. Stephen Joseph assured Corps members of their safety throughout their stay in the State.
“As you are all aware, Kaduna State Government has been at the forefront in the area of security for its citizens even when the state has been bedeviled with a lot of security challenges in the past.
“There are programmes now in place to protect not just Corps members but all the people resident in the State and, we are in good relationships with security agencies both at the Federal and State Levels.
“So, I want to assure everybody including Corps members that their lives and properties are guaranteed by the grace of God,” he assured.
He however noted that the delay in the implementation of monthly allowance for Corps members serving in State government establishments as captured in the 2023 budget was due to the newness of Uba Sani’s administration which would be looked into once the administration settles down.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Scheme in the State, Mr Hassan Mahmud Taura, told the good people of the State about the readiness of the young Nigerian graduates to serve the Country in its various economic sectors.
He then used the opportunity to thank the State Government for its support of the Scheme over the years just as he assured the good people of the State of the Corps members’ commitment to the development of their host communities.
