Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan received her Certificate of Return as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), formally confirming her candidacy for the forthcoming election.

The certificate was presented at a ceremony attended by the PDP National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and other candidates of the party from across the country.

Speaking shortly after receiving the certificate, Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed appreciation to the party leadership, delegates and supporters for the confidence reposed in her, describing the development as a call to greater service and responsibility.

“This Certificate of Return is not just a document; it is a symbol of the trust and confidence that our party members and the people have placed in me. I accept it with humility, gratitude and a renewed commitment to serve,” she said.

The lawmaker reaffirmed her commitment to effective representation, good governance and policies aimed at improving the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.

According to her, the PDP remained a platform of hope for millions of Nigerians and had to continue to engage communities and work diligently to earn the trust of the electorate.

“The PDP remains a platform of hope for millions of Nigerians. We must continue to stand together, engage our communities and work tirelessly to earn the trust and confidence of the people,” she stated.

Akpoti-Uduaghan also stressed the need for unity within the party, urging members and supporters to remain focused on the collective objective of providing responsive and people-centred leadership.

“Our responsibility as leaders and candidates is to inspire confidence through service, integrity and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of our people,” she added.

She further advocated issue-based campaigns and sustained grassroots engagement, noting that Nigerians expected leaders who would prioritise development, justice, accountability and economic opportunities.
