Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central in the Senate, has pledged to translate ideas and recommendations from engagements with Nigerians at home and abroad into tangible development initiatives.
Akpoti-Uduaghan made the commitment after engaging members of the Ebira community in Maryland, United States, where she joined community leaders and Nigerians from other backgrounds to discuss the development of Ebiraland, Kogi State and Nigeria.
The gathering, organised under the auspices of the Ebira First Forum and coordinated by Bashir Enesi Abubakar, provided a platform for discussions on leadership, development and the aspirations of Nigerians.
“While in America, I spent a wonderful evening with members of our Ebira community in Maryland at a gathering of the Ebira First Forum, coordinated by my dear big brother, Mr Bashir Enesi Abubakar,” the senator said in a statement released by her media office in Abuja on Wednesday night.
She said the participation of Nigerians from communities outside Ebira reflected a broader interest in the development of Kogi State and the country.

Akpoti-Uduaghan also highlighted some of the development interventions facilitated through her office, noting that: “Nigerians from other communities joined us, including Engr. Charles Jagun of Akoko Edo, who presented a letter of appreciation for the streetlight projects we facilitated.”
The senator said the discussions were not limited to the affairs of the Ebira people but extended to the wider issues of leadership and national development.
“We shared ideas and hopes for Ebiraland, Kogi State and Nigeria, united by our desire for good leadership and a better country,” she said, adding that effective representation should go beyond legislative activities to include sustained engagement with constituents and the conversion of identified needs into practical interventions.
She thanked members of the Ebira community and other Nigerians who attended the gathering for their contributions, while also acknowledging the support of her husband, High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan.
The senator said she looked forward to sustaining engagements with Nigerians both within and outside the country as part of her approach to community-focused representation.
