It was Erich Fromm, a German-American social psychologist who once said ‘not he who has much is rich, but he who gives much’. This quote must be the guiding philosophy of business tycoon and philanthropist of note, Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu.
For the amiable Dan Amana Dutse, he could pass as one of the most charitable billionaires around as his flame of benevolence appears inextinguishable. The business mogul has been so unrelenting in his drive and determination to bring succour to the suffering masses, and this he has been doing for years in many states across the North and beyond.
The highly reputed businessman believes God blessed him with wealth so as to bless the poor in return. Spotlight gathered that Danu has made it an annual tradition of giving to the less privileged during the Ramadan season. The Chairman of Casiva Group doesn’t see it as a drain of his resources to open his barns and invite the hungry.
This year’s Ramadan is no exception. At the commencement of the fasting period, Danu, in his usual practice, donated trailer loads of food items and cash to the needy in his hometown Dutse, Jigawa State and other northern parts of Nigeria. The billionaire, who has just been installed as the Sardauna Dutse, would also be feeding over 500 less privileged people throughout the period of Ramadan. Danu has been reputed for his early start and interest in business.
A detribalised Nigerian who has an unprecedented track record in business spanning over a decade with interests mainly in oil and gas, agriculture and construction, his dexterity in business stands him out among his peers and earned him a place among 100 Most Influential Nigerians in 2017.
