Nasarawa South: Al’makura loses Senatorial seat

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Sen. Ogoshi Onawo of the people’s Democratic Party as the winner of the Saturday’s election for Nasarawa south Senatorial District.

The INEC Returning Officer, Prof Yakubu Ashiku of Federal University, Lafia, in the early hours of Monday in Lafia, at Abacha Youth Centre declared Ogoshi as the winner with 93,064 votes.

Daily Sun reports that The candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Tanko Almakura, who came second scored 76,813 votes, New Nigeria Peoples Party scored 3,640 votes.

“ Muhammed Ogoshi Onawo having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared as the winner of the election conducted on the 25th of February for Nasarawa south Senatorial District,” He said.
