Nasarawa: Former senators advocate for change, cohesion at Olosoho Development Association retreat

The Olosoho (Agwatashi) Development Association, based in Obi local government of Nasarawa State, has demonstrated its commitment to addressing the socio-economic fortunes of the community.

During a one-day induction retreat organized by the pioneer officials of the association, key stakeholders convened to discuss and devise strategies for sustainable progress.

The retreat, held at the 1st Crown Luxury Hotel along Shendam Road on yesterday, witnessed the presence of esteemed personalities, including two former Senators from the community, Senator Suleiman Adokwe and Senator Salihu Hussaini Egyegbola, as well as Elder Mark Ogbole, former registrar of FCE Pankshin.

The primary objective of the induction course was to identify areas where skills and talents are lacking and explore ways to address these challenges, ultimately fostering sustainable peace and progress within the community.

Dr. Isma’ila Agyo Ewa, Chairman of the association, expressed his appreciation for the remarkable turnout of community members and shared his optimism that the retreat would serve as a catalyst for developing a vision for the Olosoho community.

He called on all sons and daughters of the community to join hands with the association and work diligently towards revitalizing the political and socio-economic prospects of the community.

Former Senators Suleiman Adokwe and Salihu Hussaini Egyegbola emphasized the significance of mutual cohesion among community members for the development of a thriving community. They encouraged the management team to actively participate in the induction course to bring about positive changes in the lifestyle of the community, enabling them to overcome global challenges.

Various papers were presented during the retreat, covering topics such as education, economy, security, and healthcare needs of the community. Elder Mark Ogbole, Hajia Zainab Abdulahi Magaji from the State Ministry of Education, and Mr. Joseph Agyo from the State Ministry of Science and Technology discussed the importance of transforming these crucial sectors.

Additionally, Dr. Donald Egbe from Abuja, Mr. Harry Agbo, a retired director of NNPC, and Mr. Albert Oyigye highlighted the need for the community to adopt a new vision that promotes a change in mindset, particularly with regard to security and healthcare.

They emphasized that education is a collective responsibility and urged all members of the association to contribute actively to the educational goals of the Olosoho Development Association, ensuring a positive transformation.

The speakers also recognized the vital role of youths in achieving sustainable peace and development within society. They emphasized the importance of engaging young people in positive endeavors to enhance their well-being and promote self-reliance.
