Nigeria international Victor Osimhen is entitled to a special bonus close to €1m (about N426 million) if he scores 20 goals in a season, reports owngoalnigeria.com.
The agreement was part of the sweetener the club used in convincing him to cross from Ligue 1 side, Lille.
The 23-year-old striker, who is aware of the bonus he’s due if he scores 20 goals, said his aim is to first help the team.
“I’m very happy, it was very important to start well. We have to feel the same as last year and start in the best way. I’m not the type of player who sets a goal target, I want to score to help the team. I put the collective in front,” he said.
Osimhen finished last seas with 14 Serie A goals, four goals more than his tally in his debut season at the club. Coming into his third season, all eyes are on him to surpass his feat in the previous two seasons.
The Nigerian opened his goal account with a goal in the club’s 5-2 win over Verona.
