Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) of Nigerian Army Armoured Corps in Bauchi has distributed food items, clothing materials and cash donations to widows and orphans slain military personnel to celebrate Christmas and New Year festivity.
Chairperson of NAOWA and wife of the Commander Nigerian Army Armored Corps, Dr Hafsat Ahmed, who disclosed this on Thursday in Bauchi, said that the gesture was based on compassionate ground to encourage the windows to be able to take good care of their children.
Speaking during the presentation of the items at Widows Outreach/ Visitation of Orphanage homes held at the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps Bauchi, Chairperson, said “Today is not just about support, it’s about creating a space where empathy transcends words, bonds are formed and a community of understanding flourishes.
“In this gathering, we may find solace, encouragement and build a community of understanding and compassion.
“May this gathering be a source of inspiration and a reminder that even though the road may be challenging but you are not alone
“Together we can illuminate the path with compassion, understanding and the unwavering Support of this extraordinary community.”
Also speaking on his part, Commander Nigerian Army Armoured Corps Major General Muhammed Ahmed, said the windows that the Nigerian Army would do everything possible to support the families of the deceased personnel.
“Today we honor this breave women who have lost their love ones in service to our great country, Nigeria,” The Army recognizes the sacrifice that have been made by your love ones and the sacrifice you are making.”
“We know the loss is unimaginable and irreparable but we thank you for your unweaving support and resilient.
“We will never forget the sacrifices you and your love ones have made and you have remain part of the heroes which we are.
“The way you lived and the way you were able to manage the situation is part of what motivates us,” Ahmed said.
Responding on behalf of beneficiaries, a widow, Roseline Titus, said that life has not been easy for many of the affected widows because amidst tears saying, “Most of the windows are not in their houses because to eat is a problem to them but this food items presented to them is a saving grace may the Almighty God to rewards them abundantly.
