The National Association of Ogun State (NAOSS) has congratulated Francis Taiwo Solanke for emerging the Best Teacher in Nigeria (Primary School) in 2025. It described the national award which came with a N50 million cash reward, as a pride to the state and rare feat by a teacher in the service of Ogun State Government.

Solanke, a teacher at Ansar-ud-Deen Main School 1, Kemta Ilaro, Abeokuta South Local Government, was on Tuesday, crowned as the Best Teacher in Nigeria during an education summit attended by the wife of the president, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and the Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa, in Abuja.

NAOSS National President and General Secretary, Olubodun Olalekan and Adesanya Peter, respectively, said in a statement: “The prestigious award is a testament to the state’s commitment to quality education delivery. The achievement not only brings honour to the teacher but also reinforces Ogun’s position as a leader in quality education delivery in the country.

“The award is a direct result of the enabling and conducive learning environment created by the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun. Since taking office in 2019, Governor Abiodun has transformed the education sector, making Ogun State a hub for academic excellence.

“The NAOSS attributes the success to the governor’s innovative approach to education, including the digitization of teaching and learning, introduction of AI-powered teaching platforms, and the appointment of Principal-Generals and Head master-Generals. These initiatives have propelled Ogun State to the forefront of educational excellence.

“The state has continued to soar higher in the education sector, with students and teachers winning laurels in the country and beyond. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Ogun State’s educators and students.
