The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has congratulated Comrade Oluwafemi Ajayi, popularly known as Castro, on his emergence as National President of the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS).
The Sun earlier reported that a new Executive and Senate leadership was elected at the association’s National Convention held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta on Saturday.
In a statement on Sunday, NANS said the entire Nigerian student body felicitated with Ajayi, noting that his victory at the polls was a testament to his years of dedication, commitment to student struggle, and the confidence reposed in his ability to lead the prestigious body of Ogun State students both within and outside the state.
NANS further said his emergence signified a crucial mandate for progressive, accountable, and impactful leadership.

The statement reads, “NANS recognises the vital role NAOSS plays in coordinating and advancing the interests of Ogun State indigenes across various tertiary institutions.
“We view this transition as an opportunity to reinforce the strong synergy between the national body of NANS and the state-level indigenous association.”
NANS charged the new NAOSS to prioritise the welfare, unity, and academic interests of all Ogun State students.
“He must work assiduously to build bridges of cooperation, ensure transparency in administration, and maintain high ethical standards befitting the esteemed status of Ogun State youth.
“NANS National Headquarters commits its full support and looks forward to robust collaboration with the new NAOSS leadership in tackling challenges facing Nigerian students, ensuring that the voice of the Ogun State student is heard at all levels of governance,” the statement further reads.
