The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has congratulated the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Abubakar Danlami Umar, on his recognition in the Crisis Communicator of the Year category at the National Spokespersons Awards organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Abuja.
In a statement released on Saturday, the National Publicity Relations Officer of NANS, Comrade Adeyemi Samson Ajasa described Umar’s award recognition as “well deserved”.
NANS said the recognition bestowed on Umar, a Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), is a significant achievement that further solidifies his reputation as a leading voice in Nigeria’s security sector.
“NANS keenly recognises that DCC Abubakar Danlami Umar’s commitment to transparency, proactive, and impactful communication has been instrumental in fostering a greater understanding of the vital role and complex operations of the Nigeria Correctional Service among the Nigerian populace, including the critical constituency of Nigerian students.
“His dedication to ensuring the timely and accurate dissemination of information has cultivated an environment of trust and facilitated more meaningful engagement between the service and the citizens it diligently serves,” the national student body said.
NANS said the prestigious “Outstanding Crisis Communicator” award is not an isolated recognition of DCC Abubakar Danlami Umar’s exceptional communicative prowess.
