As the 2025 Anambra governorship election approaches, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), led by its President, Olushola Oladoja, has declared their support for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s second term in office, citing his remarkable infrastructural achievements.

Oladoja, currently on a national campus tour across South Eastern states, made the endorsement during a visit to key project sites in Awka, including the newly built Government House and Solution Fun City, on Wednesday, June 18.

He was hosted by Dr Ossy Onuko, Managing Director of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA).

Addressing journalists after the tour, Oladoja hailed the new Government House as one of Nigeria’s finest, commending its architectural excellence and functionality.

“This is a visionary project. Governor Soludo’s work here is exceptional,” he said.

He observed what he described as the limited media coverage of Soludo’s achievements, urging the state government to enhance its media engagement. “The scale of development in Anambra deserves more visibility. The world needs to know,” Oladoja emphasised.

At Solution Fun City, a major recreational and tourism hub, Oladoja expressed amazement at the transformation of a former swamp into a modern facility. “This is a testament to Soludo’s foresight. If I could vote in Anambra, my vote would be for him. NANS fully supports his re-election,” he affirmed.

Dr Onuko, during the tour, highlighted that the visited projects represent only a fraction of Soludo’s accomplishments. He noted that the governor has awarded over 750 kilometres of road projects, with more than 450 kilometres completed and asphalted, including several dualised federal roads. “Soludo is driven by purpose, not politics. As a former Central Bank Governor and globally respected economist who has advised over 20 international organisations, he returned to serve Anambra,” Onuko said.

The tour culminated with a visit by NANS executives to the office of Anambra’s Deputy Governor, Dr Onyeka Ibezim.
