Naira mutilation: EFCC arrests two suspects in Uyo

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two men in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State for alleged mutilation of naira notes.

In a statement, the EFCC said the suspects, Ejiofor Joseph Abuju and Temple Sunday Kachi, were arrested recently by officers of the Special Task Force on Dollarisation and Currency Mutilation from the Uyo Zonal Directorate of the commission, following credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in naira mutilation.

“They were arrested at Flairmore Event Centre on Edet Akpan Avenue in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the EFCC said.
