The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has rebranded its Trade War Advocacy Committee as the Trade Advocacy Committee, signaling a shift toward a more collaborative and solution-driven engagement within the maritime sector.
The Founder of NAGAFF, Boniface Aniebonam, disclosed that the decision followed sustained calls from freight forwarders seeking a more inclusive and less confrontational approach to industry issues.

The newly renamed committee will operate from the association’s headquarters under the Office of the Founder, with a renewed mandate to promote dialogue, industry harmony, and enhanced port productivity.
Aniebonam noted that the committee is not positioned against any stakeholder or institution but is designed to complement government efforts in strengthening Nigeria’s trade ecosystem in line with the Renewed Hope agenda.
The move is widely seen as a strategic recalibration aimed at fostering cooperation, reducing friction within the ports, and advancing a more progressive framework for trade facilitation in Nigeria.
