NAFDAC shuts unregistered cosmetic products factory in Lagos

By John Ogunsemore

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has shut down an illegal production facility for manufacturing unregistered cosmetic products in Ipaye, Iba, Lagos State.

The agency disclosed this in an X post on Wednesday.

NAFDAC said its officials raided the premises following extensive surveillance, apprehended staff members and confiscated various products.

Some of the confiscated products include body washes, cleansing soaps, lightening creams, children’s skincare items, and packaging materials.

“The facility has been sealed to halt further production, and one individual is currently in custody for further investigation.

“NAFDAC reiterates its commitment to protecting public health by clamping down on unregulated and unsafe products in the markets,” the post reads in X.
