The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Kelvin Aneke, has reaffirmed that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) remains alert, resolute, and fully committed to denying criminal elements any respite, regardless of the time or season.

Air Marshal Aneke gave the assurance while sharing a Christmas luncheon with Nigerian Air Force troops deployed at the frontlines as part of activities to mark the Yuletide.

According to him, sustained vigilance by personnel during festive periods sends a strong message of the Air Force’s unwavering commitment to national security. He reiterated his Command Philosophy, stressing that troop welfare remains central to mission success.

The CAS assured personnel of the continued prioritisation of improved living conditions, enhanced logistics support, quality medical care and timely welfare initiatives across all operational theatres.

The Christmas luncheon, it was gathered, was aimed at boosting morale, demonstrating empathy and recognising the sacrifices of officers, airmen and airwomen who remained on duty to safeguard the nation while others celebrated with their families.

The event also provided an avenue for close interaction between serving and retired senior officers, key security stakeholders and frontline personnel. Commending the courage, professionalism and dedication of the troops, Air Marshal Aneke described them as the pride of the nation.

“You are the pride of the nation. While others celebrate with their families, you remain steadfast at your posts, ensuring that Nigerians can celebrate in peace and safety,” he said.

He described spending Christmas at the frontlines as a powerful symbol of patriotism, duty and selfless service to the country.

Similar engagements were held simultaneously in Kainji, Katsina, Maiduguri, Port Harcourt, Makurdi, Kaduna and Enugu, where the CAS’s goodwill message was delivered alongside the hosting of luncheons for deployed personnel.
