Following the impasse between some personnel of the Nigerian Air Force and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in Kaduna State, Close Watch has advised Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs), to work together for the interest of the country.

Close Watch National Coordinator Biodun Odele, in a statement on Sunday, said the issue could have been handled without getting out of control if they were working in harmony.

According to Odele, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar is a strict adherent of ethics and will never tolerate disorderliness by his personnel.

He said the EFCC should have engaged the leadership of the NAF in Kaduna State and if that failed, it should have reached out to the NAF leadership at their headquarters in Abuja, rather than seeking public sympathy even before the matter is being thoroughly investigated.

“Both the EFCC and the NAF are both government institutions with key roles to play in the security architecture of our country, hence should not subject each other to any form of embarrassment.

“The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar will never condone any disorderly conduct both in private and public of his personnel. He frowns at behaviours which tend not only to embarrass the service but the government as a whole.

“We urge government agencies to work harmoniously especially as the country is passing through security challenges,” he said.
