The China Relations Executive of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Zakirudeen Oladotun, recently held a high-level engagement with the Minister Counselor at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Wang Yingqi to deepen economic relations.
The meeting comes days after Oladotun was appointed to the important role in recognition of his remarkable contributions to NACCIMA’s successful outing at the 138th Canton Fair in Guangzhou, China, and in appreciation of his strategic acumen and trade facilitation skills.
Also present at the meeting which took place in Abuja, was Zhu Xuetao, an attache to the embassy.
Oladotun said the meeting discussed practical pathways to deepen China–Nigeria economic cooperation, expand trade opportunities, and accelerate Nigeria’s industrialization drive.
“Our conversation focused on aligning Nigeria’s private-sector ambitions with the vast opportunities within China’s industrial and innovation ecosystem, especially in manufacturing, agro-processing, the digital economy, technology transfer, and SME development,” he added.

Also featured as a central part of the discussion was the evolving opportunities within the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), particularly its framework for industrial partnerships, capacity development, investment facilitation, and trade expansion, according to Oladotun.
In his reaction, the Chinese top diplomat reaffirmed China’s full commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Nigeria. Yingqi also pledged strong cooperation on initiatives that will support Nigeria’s national aspiration of achieving a $1 trillion economy by 2030.
The meeting represents a major leap for NACCIMA’s push to deepen Nigeria’s private sector relations with China, and to open its members to the vast economic opportunities inherent in the East Asian country.
Oladotun praised NACCIMA President, Engr. Jani Ibrahim, noting his visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to strengthening Nigeria’s private sector continue to inspire the collective efforts of his team.
“His commitment to international economic diplomacy and strategic partnerships has created the enabling platform that allows engagements such as today’s meeting to flourish. His guidance remains instrumental as we work to position Nigerian businesses for global relevance,” he added.
According to Oladotun, Nigeria stands on the threshold of a major transformation, and the private sector must lead boldly in the process.
He affirmed his commitment to working under the strategic leadership of NACCIMA in moving Nigeria closer to its industrial future.
