The Secretary of Zuru Local Government Area in Kebbi South Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulraham Muhammad Manga, has dismissed claims that criticisms and alleged anti-party activities by Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah will affect the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. Speaking to journalists in Birnin Kebbi, Manga reacted to statements made by Na’Allah against Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris. He stated that Na’Allah lost his senatorial re-election bid in 2023 because constituents wanted a change of representation after his sixteen-year tenure in the National Assembly. Manga stated that Na’Allah was a sitting senator in 2023 when he was defeated by the opposition because the electorate was ready for new leadership. He argued that when voters and party members sought a popular alternative in General Gejere after both Na’Allah and Senator Maidoki withdrew from the primaries, it was simply an exercise in internal democracy.
Manga questioned Na’Allah’s loyalty to the APC, pointing out that the former senator had been appearing on national television to criticise Governor Idris and canvas support for opposition elements.
He further explained that Senator Na’Allah collected nomination forms alongside two other aspirants but withdrew before the primary election took place. He noted that Na’Allah never approached the governor to declare his intentions, making his accusations of bias unfounded.
Manga stressed that when a politician loses or withdraws from a primary, standard party loyalty requires him to remain and support the nominee rather than align with the opposition. He urged the national leadership of the APC to investigate Na’Allah’s standing in the party and take necessary disciplinary action if anti-party conduct is established. He added that the APC candidate for Kebbi South, General Gejere, remains widely supported in the district due to his long-standing community engagement and philanthropic work.
