N17B paid to NFF to clear players bonuses, allowances – Enoh

A total of 17 Billion Naira has been paid to the NFF to clear outstanding bonuses and allowances for the Super Eagles and various other national teams, according to Sports Minister John Owan Enoh.
In an interview on Eagle7 FM, the Sports Minister said he has paid to the NFF an intervention fund, which rose from 12 Billion Naira to 17 Billion Naira due to foreign exchange variation, to clear the monies owed the Super Eagles as well as other national teams.
“President Bola Tinubu graciously approved this money,” the minister disclosed.
“These monies were paid in tranches to the ministry, who directed transfer to the NFF.”
However, SCORENigeria has variously reported that the Super Eagles and the other national teams covered by this intervention fund, namely the Flying Eagles, Golden Eaglets and the Falconets, have yet to be paid.
