My sickle cell journey was traumatising – Adekunle Gold

Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, opened up in a recent interview with CNN about his struggles with sickle cell anaemia, revealing his determination to raise awareness and support others with the condition.

Adekunle Gold shared his experiences with the disease, highlighting how playing football in the rain worsened his condition. He recounted being hospitalised several times due to joint pain but emphasised that he never allowed the disease to define him.

He expressed his commitment to using his music and platform to advocate for those living with sickle cell, encouraging them to share their stories and seek help when needed.
