ROM PETRUS OBI, ENUGU
IMMEDIATE past Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the party’s Senatorial candidate for Anambra Central re-run election, Chief Victor Umeh who was arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS) Thursday has been released.
Umeh who was received by a large crowd of supporters as he flew into Enugu from Abuja Friday morning accused those he called ‘frustrated political opponents’ of masterminding his arrest.
Umeh’s arrest coincided with another court victory against his PDP opponent in the Anambra Central Senatorial Election Senator Uche Ekwunife whose latest application to the Court of appeal sitting in Enugu to revisit her case was dismissed on the ground that there must be an end to the matter.
The court had earlier nullified her election and disqualified her from contesting the re-run which has just been postponed.
