Talented artiste, Airo Uche, left a lasting impression on both fans and guests, as he delivered a memorable performance at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Cultural Expo held in Benin City, Edo State recently.

The event, which brought together people from across the Niger Delta region, was a celebration of culture, unity and artistic expression – and Airo Uche stood out like a shining star.

Reflecting on the experience, the singer described the moment as both inspiring and deeply fulfilling. “Performing in Benin City felt like being at home, especially as I watched people from different NDDC states gather in their rich traditional attires, showcasing the diversity and beauty of their heritage. The colourful display of culture, combined with the lively atmosphere, created the perfect stage for my performance,” he said.

According to Airo Uche, the theme of the cultural expo and the energy of the audience inspired him to deliver a powerful rendition of his song, Odogwu Abata.

The connection between him and the crowd was immediate and electric, as attendees vibed enthusiastically to his music. He noted that the audience’s response made it easy for him to engage and share his art in a meaningful way.

Beyond the performance, Airo Uche emphasized the importance of festivals like the NDDC Cultural Expo, describing such as essential platforms for promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and traditions.

“Festivals like the NDDC Cultural Expo serve as vehicles for exporting local culture to the global stage, particularly to the Diaspora, while also fostering unity among diverse communities,” he noted.

The artiste also highlighted the role of hard work, teamwork and continuous innovation in sustaining his career. He acknowledged that success in the music industry does not come easily, but consistent rehearsals and commitment to growth have helped him and his team to remain relevant and progressive.

While Airo Uche found it difficult to single out one defining moment from the event, to him, every part of the experience was memorable and worth cherishing – from the contagious audience energy to the connections he made with colleagues in the industry.

Airo Uche extended his appreciation to NDDC and everyone who contributed to the success of the cultural expo. He not only entertained, his performance also reinforced the power of music as a unifying force and celebration of identity.
