From Molly Kilete, Abuja

Former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC), Brigadier General Tsiga, has told of how he suffered in the hands of terrorists who he said always use him and other kidnapped victims as shields whenever they came under military attack.

Gen. Tsiga, who was rescued on Tuesday, by soldiers after spending over 50 days in captivity, also told how they were fed once daily with millet and salt, which he said  deteriorated his health as a hypertensive patient. He also explained that the terrorists, who treated them like animals especially those of them who are retired military personnel, said,”  they don’t fear God, they only fear military aircraft,”

Gen. Tsiga, made this known shortly after he  along other kidnapped victims were handed over to their families by the National Security Adiviser(NSA), Nuhu Ribadu and the Chief of Defence Staff(CDS), General Christopher Musa, in Abuja.

The former NYSC boss, who said he has been in the hospital since his rescue as a result of what he went through, thanked president Bola Tinubu, the NSA, CDS and the entire personnel of the armed forces and security agencies for their tireless efforts in curbing the insecurity bedeviling the nation.
