Xenavonn, a dynamic and soulful songstress, is rapidly establishing herself as a compelling voice within the vibrant Nigerian music scene.

With her rich vocals, soulful delivery, and genre-blending style that fuses Afrobeat, R&B, and soul, the fast-emerging artist is becoming one of the most refreshing female acts to watch in Nigeria’s music scene.

In a recent encounter with Saturday Sun, the songstress shared insights on creativity, collaboration, and the importance of staying rooted in one’s artistic identity. When asked if she believes collaborations foster growth or sometimes undermine individuality, Xenavonn offered a balanced perspective.

“Both; it depends on the intention. Collaboration can be magic when everyone brings their truth to the table. But sometimes, the industry celebrates sameness more than originality. So, if you don’t protect your identity, you’ll wake up sounding like everybody else. The key is balance: collaborate, but don’t dissolve,” she stated. For the singer, finding that balance came with experience and self-discovery. Looking back on the early days of her musical journey, she admits there is one thing she regrets and might have done differently.

“I would trust my instincts earlier. I spent too much time second-guessing my direction because I wanted everyone to ‘get’ me. Now I know that not everyone needs to understand the vision — they just need to feel it. If I had leaned into my uniqueness from day one, I would’ve moved faster and freer. But growth is growth, and I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.” Today, Xenavonn’s sound is both contemporary and timeless, marked by emotive storytelling and melodies that linger long after the music stops. Her songs explore themes of love, self-awareness, and empowerment, resonating deeply with listeners who see their own stories reflected in her artistry.
