Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has praised the legacies of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme in the last 50 years and assured them that his administration will impact positively on the operations of the scheme in the state.
Fubara gave the assurance on Friday, during the swearing in ceremony of 2023 Batch B Stream 1 Corps members deployed to Rivers State.
Represented by Kenneth Chisom Gbali, Commissioner for Youth, Fubara charged the Corps members to help to evolve a peaceful, prosperous and egalitarian society through exemplary character and conduct at all times.
He further called on the Corps members to use their ingenuity, resourcefulness, energy and passion to bring about a new Rivers State filled with quality life for the citizens.
In a welcome address, Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. George Mfongang, appealed to the Corps members to be driven by discipline while making conscious efforts at nation building.
He urged them to imbibe the key values of the NYSC Scheme in order to properly harness their innate potentials and become stand out personalities in the society.
The Rivers State Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi, represented by Justice Charles Ndudi Wali, administered the Oath of Allegiance on the 1,639 Corps members deployed to Rivers State..
