Mutfwang approves N70,000 New Minimum Wage

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has approved a N70,000 minimum wage for workers in the state civil service.

This followed the signing of the agreement by the Committee on Consequential Adjustment on Salaries on 13th November 2024.

A statement signed by the Head of Civil Service, Stephen Pam Gadong, said that the approval was a demonstration of the governor’s commitment to prioritising the well-being of the workforce in acknowledgement of their invaluable role in driving the state’s developmental goals.

The statement said, “His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Executive Governor of Plateau State, has approved the immediate implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage for workers in the state.

“The implementation is a demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to prioritising the well-being of the workforce in acknowledgement of their invaluable role in driving the state’s developmental goals.

“As the new wage policy is administered, civil servants are encouraged to embrace this gesture by recommitting to their duties with renewed dedication and zeal in order to foster a culture of productivity and excellence in the service of the state.”
