Musician, Dareysteel, wins DALA Award for promoting African music in the Diaspora

 

The organisers of the prestigious Daylight Annual Leadership Awards (DALA) have honored Europe-based Nigerian rapper and record producer, Dareysteel, with the 2026 Special Recognition Award in the Diaspora category.

​According to the organisers, the multiple-award-winning musician was singled out for his contributions to the growth of Nigerian and African music abroad. Based in Madrid, Spain, Dareysteel has spent years uplifting audiences with his inspirational and socially conscious lyrics.

​The singer, born Solomon Paul is being celebrated for consistently using his platform to spread love.

​In an official statement, the DALA organising committee noted that Dareysteel is being bestowed with the honor for: “Consistently and consciously promoting and projecting intellectually positive lyrics as a globally acclaimed musician with proud Nigerian roots and heritage.

​“He has been consistent in using his lyrics to fight social injustice and inequality all over the world. Therefore, he is a global role model, ambassador extraordinaire, and an untiring change agent for humanity.”

​The DALA honour adds to a growing list of international accolades for the multi-talented entertainer, who recently released a three-track project titled: ‘Your Body’ in 2026.

The former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain, Obed Wadzani, honoured Dareysteel with a Special Recognition Certificate of Merit for his intellectual lyrics and societal contributions.

​May 2025, the African community in Madrid honored him with a Merit Award.
