Music Icon, Femi Esho dies at 77

Chief Femi Esho, Chairman of Evergreen Musical Company, has died at the age of 77 following a brief illness.

The family announced his death on Monday.

Esho, commonly known as Baba Esho or Baba Musician, was a prominent player in the Nigerian music business.

He also founded the Evergreen Music Heritage Foundation.

Baba Esho was a mentor to many people in the Highlife music industry before his death, and he was instrumental in conserving and promoting many Nigerian music genres such as Highlife, Juju, Sakara, Apala, Afrobeat, and others.

The family will announce the funeral arrangements soon.
